Robert Katz, former President of the DeKalb Bar Association, received his B.B.A. and Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) from the University of Georgia. Prior to entering the private practice of law, Mr. Katz had judicial clerkships with Judge Dorothy T. Beasley of the Georgia Court of Appeals and with Judge James H. Weeks of the Superior Court of DeKalb County.

Upon completion of his judicial clerkship with Judge Weeks, Mr. Katz entered private practice with the law firm of Gorby, Reeves, Moraitakis & Whiteman. His practice with the firm was evenly divided between representation of Individuals and Insurance companies and other corporations. In 1994, Mr. Katz became one of the founding partners of the firm now known as Hewitt, Katz & Stepp. His law practice since 1994 has been devoted to the representation of individuals in personal injury matters.

Robert Katz was listed in Who's Who Among American Law Students. He has authored "History of the Georgia Bill of Rights," and "Sexual Harassment in Employment and Education," and chapters of Georgia's Jurisprudence on False Arrest and False Imprisonment.
